Frequently Asked Questions

Pick and Pack Software and APIs
What is SolvingMaze Pick and Pack?

SolvingMaze helps retailers, manufacturers, and warehouses improve order fulfillment with Pack and Quote and Batch Pick software and APIs. Pack and Quote selects packages and optional shipping rates. Batch Pick groups orders into efficient picking work and can guide pickers through online tasks, barcode confirmation, and pick-to-box workflows.

What is an API?

An API is an application programming interface that software developers use to connect external systems. For fulfillment workflows, an API can send order, item, box, carrier, or warehouse layout data to SolvingMaze and receive packing results, shipping rates, pick batches, pick routes, or picker tasks in return.

How long has SolvingMaze been in operation?

SolvingMaze has been streamlining order fulfillment for retailers and manufacturers since 2011.

How reliable are SolvingMaze API web services?

The SolvingMaze platform runs on Amazon cloud with redundancy in place. Our computing nodes are distributed and load-balanced across multiple data centers at different locations and our capacity can be expanded readily at peak times.

Batch Pick Software
Can I use Batch Pick without an API integration?

Yes. The online Batch Pick software lets you upload order CSV files, create pick jobs, configure batch settings, and open browser-based picker tasks without custom development. The Batch Pick API is available when you want a WMS, ERP, shopping cart, or custom application to submit and retrieve the same workflow programmatically.

Does online Batch Pick support barcode scanning?

Yes. Picker task pages can use barcode scanning to confirm the item or picking step before work is marked complete. This helps reduce missed picks and wrong-item picks when teams move from paper lists to guided online picking.

What is pick-to-box?

Pick-to-box separates picked items into the correct cart bin, tote, or box during the picking route. It keeps order contents organized earlier in the process, which can reduce sorting and packing rework after the picker returns from the warehouse floor.

What data do I need for Batch Pick?

Batch Pick needs order lines, item identifiers, quantities, item locations, and a warehouse layout that reflects practical travel paths. Online users can manage the workflow through CSV uploads and browser pages. API users can submit order and warehouse data directly from another system.

For example, for the Pack and Quote API, you can select the appropriate price plan based on the number of packaging containers, shipping carriers and monthly calculations.

Pricing does not include third-party modules, support or integration. For third-party modules, please consult module provider for additional pricing info and payment method.

You can modify your subscription anytime by purchasing a new subscription under the Subscription menu. We will cancel the old subscription and issue a pro-rated refund for the remaining days of the monthly cycle. Overage fee will be charged on a weighted basis. For example, if your plan covered 5,000 monthly calculations and a new subscription is started in the middle of the monthly billing cycle, we will refund 50% of the monthly fee. Overage fee will apply to the number of used calculations exceeding 50% of the monthly coverage so if 2,700 calculations were used, the overage fee will apply to 200 calculations.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel subscription by visiting the Subscription menu of your SolvingMaze account, or you can contact us anytime.
