What is SolvingMaze Pick and Pack API?

Altogether, the SolvingMaze Pack and Quote API, and Batch Pick API saves shipping costs, accelerates order fulfillment and increases warehouse efficiency for retailers, manufacturers and warehouses by maximizing package density based on product and box sizes quickly, and optimizing shipment orders into batches with shortest foot distance for picking.

What is an API?

API is an application programming interface that can be integrated with an external applications by software developers to pass in data such as customer orders and in return, obtain information such as shipping rates, packing requirements, or pick batches.

How long has SolvingMaze been in operation?

SolvingMaze Pick and Pack API has been running 24/7 and streamlining order fulfillment for retailers and manufacturers since 2011.

How reliable are SolvingMaze API web services?

The SolvingMaze platform runs on Amazon cloud with redundancy in place. Our computing nodes are distributed and load-balanced across multiple data centers at different locations and our capacity can be expanded readily at peak times.

Account Registration
How do I get an account?

Please go to the sign up page to register an account.

How do I transfer account?

You can transfer your SolvingMaze account by visiting the Account menu under My Warehouse. The menu allows you to update email ID, password and billing info.

Pricing and Payments
How much does the API cost?

Pricing is based on your monthly API usage with different monthly price plans available. There are no set-up fees and you may cancel your subscription anytime. For example, for the Pack and Quote API, you can select the appropriate price plan based on the number of packaging containers, shipping carriers and monthly calculations.

Pricing does not include third-party modules, support or integration. For third-party modules, please consult module provider for additional pricing info and payment method.

How do I pay?

We accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express credit cards. To begin subscription, visit the Subscription menu of your SolvingMaze account.

Are there other subscription plans available?

We also offer plans for high volume retailers and manufacturers, please contact us by providing your name, company's URL and monthly usage estimates for more info.

Do you offer annual subscription plans?

We do not offer special discounts for annual subscription at the moment.

How do I change my existing subscription plan?

You can modify your subscription anytime by purchasing a new subscription under the Subscription menu. We will cancel the old subscription and issue a pro-rated refund for the remaining days of the monthly cycle. Overage fee will be charged on a weighted basis. For example, if your plan covered 5,000 monthly calculations and a new subscription is started in the middle of the monthly billing cycle, we will refund 50% of the monthly fee. Overage fee will apply to the number of used calculations exceeding 50% of the monthly coverage so if 2,700 calculations were used, the overage fee will apply to 200 calculations.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel subscription by visiting the Subscription menu of your SolvingMaze account, or you can contact us anytime.

Shipping Delivery Services
Can I calculate packaging requirements only?

Yes, you can calculate packaging requirements only and omit shipping rates. You are not required to use the courier rates proxy service provided by the calculator.

How containers are selected for packing?

Boxes and envelopes are selected for packing based on two different criteria depending on your choice. You can either minimize the number of packages or the total volume of packages. Please make sure the containers have correct dimension and measurement unit and they are assigned to a delivery service in your Couriers menu.

How do I get UPS shipping rates?

In order to obtain standard published or account based negotiated shipping rates for UPS, you would need to register an account at Developer Portal instead and request access to their shipping rates API.

How do I get FedEx shipping rates?

In order to obtain standard published or account based negotiated shipping rates for FedEx, you would need to register an account at FedEx REST API and request access to their shipping rates API.

How do I get DHL shipping rates?

In order to obtain account based negotiated shipping rates for DHL, you would need to register an account at MyDHL API and request access to their shipping rates API.

How do I get U.S. Postal Service shipping rates?

For standard published rates, an USPS account in not required. You can register online at USPS Web Tools for an account. Once your registration is complete, you will receive an email with username and password to access USPS Web Tools.
